Veterinarians

Dr. Fisher Dr. Lynn Fisher has owned the Claremont Animal Hospital for 23 years. Dr. Fisher’s experience with animals started as a child growing up on a dairy farm in Grafton, Vermont. He attended veterinary school at Purdue University in Indiana, returning to New England to practice veterinary medicine. Dr. Fisher specializes in both large and small animal medicine and has extensive experience in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. When not at the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his four children and two grandchildren and driving his Belgian horses, Rusty and Kim.Back to top
Dr. Porter Dr. Cindy Porter has been a veterinarian at the hospital since she graduated from Tufts University Veterinary School 20 years ago. She has worked as both a large and small animal veterinarian. She has 3 cats, an English Setter, a Morgan horse, 38 Hereford cattle and 24 varieties of chickens. Dr. Porter’s veterinary interests include feline medicine and small animal ultrasound. When not working, Dr. Porter enjoys spending time with her 13 year old daughter as well as organic gardening, hiking, canoeing and playing the violin and Irish whistle.Back to top
Dr. Graham Dr. Larry Graham specializes in exotic animals including birds, reptiles, ferrets and other small mammals, as well as dogs and cats. Before joining us, he owned a practice outside Toronto, Ontario. He has worked as both a large and small animal veterinarian and as a zoo veterinarian. He has 6 children and 5 grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Graham is an avid hunter. Back to top
Dr. Mills Dr. Sarah Mills graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and practices both large and small animal medicine. Her interests include ruminant medicine and small animal medicine and surgery. She enjoys hiking, climbing and quilting when she is not working. Back to top
Dr. Jex Dr. Sandi Jex has been at the hospital for a year and a half. She graduated from University of Minnesota Veterinary School and has been a veterinarian for 17 years. She lives in Springfield, Vermont with her husband and three children, her yellow lab, cat, rabbit, fish, and her thorougbred and paint horses. Her main veterinary interest is small animal medicine. In her free time Dr. Jex enjoys reading, gardening, downhill skiing, horseback riding and spending time with her children.Back to top
Dr. Thurber Dr. Sallie Thurber graduated from University of Minnesota Veterinary School. Her veterinary interests include ophthalmology, dermatology and emergency medicine. She has 5 dogs, 5 cats and 2 parrots. She enjoys sewing in her spare time. Back to top

Theresa Theresa Burns is the office manager at the Claremont Animal Hospital. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs School, majoring in office management. Before joining the staff, she worked in the human medical field. Theresa enjoys the beach, shopping and skiing in her spare time.Back to top
Marlene Marlene Beauman has been the receptionist at the hospital for 20 years. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats and a cockatoo. When she isn’t working, Marlene enjoys quilting, gardening, cooking, shooting and spending time at her cabin in Alaska. Back to top
Kaela Kaela Geary works as both a receptionist and a technician at the hospital. She has an American Bulldog named Mabelline. Kaela enjoys fishing, camping, kayaking and reading. Back to top
Julie Julie Karkowski has been a veterinary technician at the hospital for 13 years. Julie graduated from Becker College with a degree in veterinary technology. Julie works with both large and small animals and manages the office’s farm call appointments. She has 3 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 horses. Julie enjoys skiing, boogie boarding, mountain biking, horseback riding and watching her children play sports. Back to top
Nicole Nicole LaFrance has worked at the hospital as a technician for 18 years. Nicole also has a pet sitting business. She has 2 children and enjoys gardening and camping in her spare time. Back to top
Jeanette Jeanette Mellen has worked at the hospital as a technician for 18 years. She has a degree in veterinary technology from Becker College, Jeanette has two horses and a Newfie/Lab mix, 2 horses and 2 barn cats. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her horses and cooking. Back to top
Terri Terri Mountford is a veterinary technician at the hospital. Terri works with cats and dogs as well as large animals. In her free time she competes in western pleasure riding with her horse, Scarlet, and enjoys snowmobiling and four-wheeling. Back to top
Evelyn Evelyn Page has been at the hospital for 23 years. She is currently semi-retired but still works part time assisting the office manager. Evelyn graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in Boston where she studied office management. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, gardening and travel. Back to top
Audrey Audrey Pelzel has been a receptionist at the hospital for 20 years. Her favorite activity is showing her schipperkes, borzoi and German shorthaired pointer at dog shows.  She also likes reading, gardening and travelling. Back to top
Brandi Brandi Reamon recently joined the hospital as a receptionist. She is originally from North Carolina where she grew up on a ranch with horses, goats, chickens, turkeys and cows. She lives in Newport with her husband, 3-year old son and a Lab-boxer mix. When not working, Brandi enjoys photography, fishing and camping. Back to top
April April Reinartz has been a veterinary technician at the hospital for 5 years. She graduated from Vermont Technical college with a degree in Applied Science for Veterinary Technology. When not working she enjoys reading, watching movies, archery and watching professional bull riding. She has a beagle, a bloodhound and a German shepherd dog. Back to top
Dan Dan Smith is a veterinary technician at the hospital. He lives in Windsor, VT with his rescued hound dog Anna. When not working, he enjoys outdoor sports. He enjoys working with animals and has a particular interest in veterinary surgery. Back to top
Becky Becky Watts has worked at the hospital as a technician for 21 years. She completed 2 years in the Laboratory Animal Technician program at Quinnipiac College. She and her husband own Kelleyville Horse Supply, a tack and feed store in Newport, NH. They have 2 daughters who help run the store. When not working, Becky and her family enjoy riding and driving their 3 horses. They also have 2 dogs, a cat and multiple chickens on their farm. Back to top
