Soft Tissue Surgery

We routinely perform a variety of soft tissue surgical procedures on a daily basis.  With every surgical procedure we have the option and always recommend performing screening pre-operative blood work and placing an intravenous catheter for during the procedure.  Our experienced technical staff is well versed in anesthesia and monitoring, and every effort is made to make even routine surgeries as safe and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.  Claremont Animal Hospital offers the following soft tissue surgeries as a planned preventative procedure or on an emergency/as needed basis (not a complete list):

  • Spay and neuter of cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, potbellied pigs and other exotic pets
  • Lump removal- all sizes and types
  • Foreign body retrieval (and other enterotomy and intestinal procedures)
  • Gastropexy (stomach tacking for large breed dogs prone to bloating/stomach twisting)
  • Abdominal exploratory surgery (with organ biopsy if indicated)
  • Entropion (and other corrective eye procedures)
  • Caesarian section
  • Surgical Insemination of chilled and frozen semen
  • Cystotomy (and other urinary bladder surgeries)

Once you have scheduled your surgery with Claremont Animal Hospital, please do not feed your pet after 7:00PM the night before surgery unless instructed otherwise. Please arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 AM for an admissions appointment with one of our technicians. You may expect to hear from the surgery technician with an update between noon and 2:00pm on the day of surgery.
